General Haul (& Burt's Bees Honey Lip Balm mini review)

Stuff I bought recently (and didn't feel guilty about since it was non-makeup related ^_*):

I'm so obssessed with mud masks, but I always forget to use them regularly. Montagne Jeunesse masks are my favourites but I want to try EVERYTHING the Dr Organic range has to offer so mud masks were my next try. This one was £6.19 @ Holland and Barrett.

I've tried their virgin olive oil shampoo and conditioner which I like. Now I'm just experimenting with their other lines. I only got a conditioner because I find I use more conditioner than shampoo so still have loads of shampoo left but running lower on conditioner. Holland and Barrett have started putting these yellow security protected stickers on all their bottles and they don't come off at all! Just an eyesore. This was around £5 or £6.

I didn't know Nivea did a "Healthy" skin line (moisturisers that are nasty ingredient free):
I got the dry skin formula for my sister and the normal to combo skin formula for myself. I'll do a review after I've had a couple week's use out of it. It was on sale at Superdrugs for £3 but I think usual price is £6.

Finally I bought a Burt's Bees lip balm for £3.20 (or somewhere round there), again from Holland and Barrett. This was a waste of money for me and I'll tell you why. But first I'll go through the positives as there ARE quite a few:

+ packaging = fine
+ formula = nice (smooth, not greasy, not gritty)
+ moisturising - it definitely does its job!
+ no aftertaste

But why didn't I like it? Because of the horrific scent that accompanies it. It smells medicinal and chemical-ey at the same time, which I know wouldn't make sense since Burt's Bees isn't a chemical-ey type brand. I just can't get over the overpowering smell and I would definitely not repurchase unless they decided to change it. If scent doesn't bother you I would totally recommend this. Otherwise you might be better off trying a different flavoured lip balm since Burts Bees have quite a few to offer. I'm sure there other lip balms don't smell so repulsive.

  3. I disagree about the Burts Bees- my one doesn't smell at all. Maybe you bought a dodgy one or you ate something funny and the smell stayed on the chapstick :-)

  4. Lol FLORIDA it was a brand new lip balm! Maybe I did get a dodgy batch but you have to admit, my one was disgusting. Not buying honey flavour again!

  5. Ooohh I've just really started getting into masks and I'm a new follower of your blog so I'm reading through all your posts to find out more information. I love your blog! :)

Btw, Burt's Bees has tinted lip balms now and I think they might smell better than the one you mentioned above! Haha.
