Current exercise tracks 2
TVXQ songs are always good for exercise since they're fast paced and it's always fun attempting to follow choreography (and failing miserably of course).
Recently I've been listening to some previously released Japanese tracks. I have no idea what they're singing but I like the songs nevertheless. And changmin too of course :)

Miss A has some odd choreo. It's weirdly interesting though.

Kpop Awards
The best performance of the night. Glad they won Best Album of the year - they really deserved it.

Kpop
I'm always embarrassed about doing kpop posts - I know my friends read these and laugh at my immaturity. There are few 23 year olds out there I know who still watch kpop music videos at this age. It was okay to admit at 19 but now I'm bordering my mid 20s I find myself reluctant to discuss my interest in kpop and the fun choreography that accompanies the cheerful tunes. *Sigh* I'm getting old...
Well what is the internet for if not to air out your embarrassing habits? And one of mine is learning Kpop choreography.
The Wonder Girls are my favourite Korean girl band and after a long stay in America they're back in Korea. Be My Baby is a fun track.
I'm also loving their whole album. It's such a different mix of styles and genres.
Secret's Love is Move choreography always makes me dizzy - I don't know how they manage it in heels.
Kpop is so much fun :)

Old kpop tunes I like
I got into kpop pretty late in the scene - around 2007 - via Super Junior. I had just turned 19 and thought I was waaaay to old for pop music (especially considering how prior to kpop my preference was for indie rock). The boys of Super Junior changed my music views irrevocably. Since then I've stopped listening to the UK charts completely. Most people (yes, especially you Sara) thought it was pretty weird and random to suddenly get interested in kpop (since I didn't understood a stitch of Korean at the time!) but I've grown to love the cheese factor and innocence of a lot of old kpop songs. So here's a run through of a few that make me nostalgic!
(Just a note - all the songs I'm including are 00s songs - nothing really old I guess, since I only know a select few from 80s and early 90s, but I've listed them as old as most were released 3 years+ ago!)
First off is the song that got me into kpop in the first place. It's ironic that it's actually a pretty lame song overall, but it sparked my curiousity.
1. Super Junior - Knockout
I found the whole "13 members in one group" concept ridiculous at the time. But then my interest was peaked by their individual and all very humorous personalities. They were my first favourite group and are still my favourite overall group to date.
The first kpop song that got me hooked on the choreography was Wonder Girls' Tell Me. It's the only song where I've learnt the entire choreography from start to finish.
Ah, memories!
Other old kpop songs I like:
SHINee's Replay. This is my ultimate favourite Korean song of all time. It reminds me of my youth just listening to it! It came out before I turned 20 so I always associate this song with the end of my teen years. Classic song and as with most SM tracks, good choreography too.
DBSK Wrong Number (disliked Yoochun's "cracked bowl" hairdo though, lol)
f(x) Mr Boogie
Although this couldn't be classed as kpop as such I really love old Epik High songs (I think they write their own music and often comment on social circumstances). Fan is my favourite song, and it's accompanied by an equally epic music video:

More kpop choreography I like
I never thought the 70s disco dance theme was one I was going to like but T-ara have got me hooked. I actually don't think of much of the song (very kiddish, lots of high pitched voices) but I love the choreography. It's fast paced but not ridiculously difficult to learn, especially following this guy who has tonnes of dance covers on youtube. Love.

Enjoying the latest kpop choreography
I've done a bunch of these posts now. I always say I'll get into a regular routine of doing pilates on weekdays but I find pilates very slow moving and thus get bored easily. So I figured I'll do high impact exercise following my Tae Bo or Nell McAndrew DVDs but after a long day at work just looking at those DVDs makes me feel exhausted. So dancing is a nice middle ground though I don't think it actually helps with weight loss that much (unless you dance for at least an hour or more regularly). Still I guess it's better than being complete a couch potato.
This is my latest favourite choreography.
Not exactly a high impact workout I know but still, it's fun! I love f(x).

Trying to exercise...
I could never dance like this in a million years and I can't keep up at all (you either need to be a pro or a really, really good amateur to master the scorpion dance like them) but I do my best to copy along. Why don't they have groups like this is the UK anymore? Boybands totally remind me of my youth (hours spent trying to learn N Sync routines! Lol)

I'm so out of shape no. 2
Despite having said I'd go on a super healthy fitness kick months ago I still have yet to jump on the fitness kick bandwagon. Pilates is good for toning but I've been trying to dance my way fitter and it's no good unless you dance continuously (like for an hour at least) which I rarely do these days (who has time for so much daily exercise?!) but I *will* try to be more healthy... someday!
Anyhoo, this guy's a really good dancer to watch to learn kpop dance moves. I've learnt bits and bobs of quite a few routines (I've only ever learned one full dance routine ever... that is how lazy I am and how easily I give up 0_o). It's a fun way to start exercising I guess and who knows, eventually I may end up being like these fitness enthusiasts who can like dance for 4 hours straight and claim to lose two pounds a week just through kpopping! Well, one can always dream...

I am soooo out of shape...
I tried to learn this choreo and after literally a few minutes of huffing and puffing I gave up. When did I get so lazy? I remember copying choreography with my cousin as a teen and we'd spend hours trying to learn half a routine. Now I get bored and give up super fast despite having all these great routines to learn from. I guess old age is beginning to catch up with me...
